Trading Hours for Dollars

In most all jobs, we are trading hours for dollars. There’s nothing wrong with this, if you love what you do so much that you want to do it 40 or more hours a week. But most of us, even when we love our jobs, or are self employed, can come to realize that the “dollars for hours” trade simply takes up a lot of our time. 

As a yoga teacher, personal trainer and plant based nutritionist, I LOVE what I do. Please don’t get me wrong! I feel incredibly thankful to be able to help people lead healthier lives and I can not think of something more fun or purposeful to do for a living.

I also love that I started up some residual income sources for my business last year, such as providing a Fitness Video Library for subscribers. When I am teaching classes to students live (whether in person or on Zoom) there are only so many hours I can teach in the course of a week. That limits the amounts of classes I can teach! My video library, however, provides an opportunity for unlimited people to take my classes. Suddenly there is no ceiling on the amount of students I can teach, or on what I can earn. It also provides me a safety net when the world shuts down (as it did during the pandemic.)

Another source of residual income I’ve brought into my life is through being a Wellness Advocate for doTERRA Essential Oils. While being a Yoga Instructor, Personal Trainer and Nutrition Consultant are things that take study and certification, being a Wellness Advocate for doTERRA is something anyone can do! (Provided they are empowered by living a healthy lifestyle and are interested in how Essential Oils can play a powerful part in Wellness!)
